A Complete Machine Tool Calibration and
Contouring Performance Check

laser calibration
system, which can perform a complete machine tool calibration and contouring performance check in
less than one day. The QC-500 laser calibration system is designed to
meet the calibration requirement of the ASME B5.54 standard one-day test for
machine performance. The QC-500 can measure the displacement accuracy, bi-directional
repeatability, volumetric performance (diagonal displacement errors), and contouring
errors.
Based on the vector measurement technique
(patent pending), all 3 displacement errors, 6 straightness errors and 3 squareness errors can
be measured. A
volumetric compensation file can be generated for the controls
to compensate the
volumetric errors (sometimes call the straightness compensation, sag compensation, non-linear
compensation, or cross compensation) and achieve higher volumetric accuracy. A typical
