On 11/27/2020, after 34 years of business, Optodyne, Inc. has closed their business. This is unfortunate news to the calibration industry, as Optodyne laser interferometer systems have been the choice of metrology labs for years. The Optodyne MCV-500 single-beam and MCV-2002 dual-beam systems are designed for the accurate calibration of CMM, CNC and granite surface plates. Optodyne laser system are quite versatile, and can be used for linear, angular, squareness and flatness measurements.

Optodyne products feature their proprietary and patented Laser Doppler Displacement Meter (LDDM™) technology.

American Calibration, Inc. has configured our Renishaw Laser Calibration System for the calibration of all Optodyne laser systems in accordance with ASME B89.1.8 (R2016). We have added this to our scope of accreditation in the first quarter of 2021 to aid all the metrology labs that require ISO 17025:2017 accredited calibration service, with a low uncertainty for these very accurate devices, as Optodyne can no longer perform this calibration service.

It is our intent to be able to offer continued support for Optodyne laser products now that Optodyne has gone out of business. We plan on providing alignment, repair and preventative maintenance services for all Optodyne systems.

UPDATE 01/29/2021: We have added the new parameter to our scope of accreditation for the calibration of these Optodyne lasers! We have already been accredited to calibrate their temperature compensation sensors.
